Yes I do give homework in Art in HS, but very few do it or the work is of such
poor quality that it's not worth grading at all. I just got thru giving a
student that's a senior a NC no credit for a sketch book assignment . (1and !/2
weeks to do) The drawing looked like Huh? what the ????? is this. Messings of a
three year old. And to boot he had the audacity to question my grade and
justify this kind of meaningless chicken scratch.
And this is the life in the big city. Too many of our students just don"t care.
Then there's the heavy kid with little upstairs that busts his buns on a Fri.
trying to finish a sketch book assignment. Not a whole lot of brain power
there, so I stayed till 4:30 and helped him out. Sometimes ya gotta. He'll
remember some day.
