    For those interested, I also sent the teacher merit story to another friend
    who is a retired professor. He did the one critical thinking thing I didn't
    have time to do and tracked down the Lancaster County Superintendent's
    office and verified that the person credited with the story is in fact both
    the superintendent and the author of the story.
