Ellen,
Been there; done that. Find a homeopathist and get a remedy call "Arnica
Montana" - 200C; he/she'll know what I'm talking about. It'll cost you
about $3. You might also be able to get it in a health food store or coop
(doesn't need a prescription - it's not a medication). Take 2-3 doses of 5
"pellets" (you'll understand when you get it)/day for about a week. Do this
AFTER the surgery, not before.
Then track down a book entitled, "Pain Erasure: The Trigger Point Method" by
Bonnie Prudden. You may have to check the local libraries as it's out of
print. The book is self-explanatory.
I was injured, neck and back, in an accident 14 years ago. I suffered under
"Western" medicine for 5 years. Then I started Acupuncture, Homeopathy, and
Neuro-muscular Massage Therapy. I am now drug free and virtually pain free.
No surgery, no disability.
Ask me off list anything you want to know. I'll be more than happy to help
you and your husband through this.
As I said: been there, done that. It's a miserable life, but not something
you have to live with.
Larry
