Larry,
You are not off your rocker! There are several views of what the primary
colors are. In the visual arts, where we are using pigments, the three
primaries are red, yellow, and blue. But, as far as science is concerned,
where color originates with light, they are red, green, and blue. the
combinations of these three in light give one yellow, violet, and orange. I
sometimes relate this to my older students, but the younger ones would get
too confused.
