We pronounce it like 'Jeff' and 'Jeffrey' (with the 'e' sound instead of the
'o'). I might have thought that the 'Joff' pronunciation was British, but
my wife said that the Geoffrey she knew from the Isles pronounced his
'Jeff'. Perhaps it is a German pronunciation? Apparently it is a German
name, not British, in its origins, meaning the "bringer of peace", which
fits our Geoff who is of a 'supporter' personality, as opposed to his sister
who is, and has been since the age of 3, a controller, making for many
clashes.
