    I always unsubscribe when I'll be gone more than a few days. It would just be
    too tempting--and time-consuming--to read all those hundreds of messages. BTW,
    when I was in Ecuador last summer, I checked the list every so often at an
    Internet cafe in whatever town I was in. It was fun still feeling like a part of
    the group!
