WHY are you bothering to use David if you are going to keep covering him up
    with more and more clothing????

On Monday I will have a meeting with my principal and a student regarding a
mural she will be doing in our middle school. The mural is for a boy's
bathroom door. Her idea was for the door mural was to paint a copy of
Michaelangelo's David. In class, I told her that her version of David would
need to wear shorts. She agreed and decided on bell bottom pants but kept him
topless. The principal saw the 1/2 scale preparatory painting and said that
David needs a shirt. Tomorrow we will meet with the student and he will tell
    the student his reasons.
If you would like to see the 1/2 scale painting go to:

I am interested in your comments and reactions.

But now I have seen the 1/2 scale drawing, perhaps shorts would be better
than pants. Add some kind of "base" so the connection can be made, to the
sculpture, that is. it looks great, though! Please don't be offended. I
just imagined David, and then read "shorts" and thought "okay, it's middle
school" but then a shirt, and then pants, and thought "how about a mask,
    too?"
