I do a fun activity based on the work of Leo Leone's "Swimmy"
Part 1 is creating the background. I map out the paper size on the table
using masking tape. I used 18 x 24 inches. I fill hair color bottles (or
condiment bottles) with the cool colors.
Then I set up brayers to be used in each of the stations.

My classes are small - we huddle at one station.

The kids squirt about an 1/8 cup of each cool color inside the table
markings and with the help of their partner they place the paper on top of
the paint. Using the brayer, the kids push the paint to the edge. They
start in the center and push 1 time to each corner - then they judge where
else the paint needs to be pushed to that all the paper is covered. Then
they peel their print away. LOTS of "ooooooooH's" here. Then the print is
put in a safe place to dry.

For the next class session, I have made styrofoam templates of sea creatures
and plant life. I offer the warm colors for printmaking. Using the brayer,
the students cover the template with a color and stamp to the background
they created the week before. There are many to choose and the kids had fun
    making their own underwater scenes.

Here is an example of one of the pieces

and thanks for the reminder of what I said....I had no recollection of
posting that. I guess some days I may be a bit chatty... :)
