It's to use with adults, it helps with recruiting volunteers at the
beginning of the year.
It will hopefully weed out the people not with the right temperament
or motivation. I ran the art literacy program and I had to recruit
volunteers to help me with it. I had 18 volunteers and they worked
in teams. Those that presented, and those as an extra pair of hands.
However some chose to alternate their positions, and then I had a
few who only worked with me (for production and set up/clean up). I
actually have a lot of info. on recruiting but I'd have to dig it
all out. I found it easiest to have one meeting explaining the
program going over different strategies, explaining DBAE and then
they could sign up to volunteer. On the second meeting I'd pass out
a a handbook on art literacy and DBAE, All the rules of the school
and then I showed them how to maintain the notebook on how to
inventory and maintain our lesson. Each lesson had a notebook split
up into sections. Then I would make all the vocab words, and
laminate and get all supplies
etc. ready. I'd demonstrate how to do each lesson at a prior meeting
before scheduling classroom time. After we would meet and discuss
the comments on presentation/production and improvements to lessons.
Of course this could be altered for what you need volunteers for. I
just have to be really organized because I'm not great at talking
with adults- I work best with small people!)
