This reminds me of what I did when I first started at my school 6 years ago.
I wrote ART on the board, and told the students I would erase one letter
every time they got too loud. If I erased the last letter, there would be no
art on the board, so there could be no art in the classroom. We would have
to clean up and spend the rest of the class time practicing being quiet.
Doesn't take too much of this for the kids to learn.
