NEW WEB SITE FEATURES FEDERAL FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

    http://www.arts.gov/federal.html

For those looking for funding for cultural programming the National
    Endowment
for the Arts has compiled a new web resource identifying an array of
    funding
opportunities supported by federal dollars at the national, regional,
    state,
and local levels. The site, http://www.arts.gov/federal.html, lists
    Federal
agencies with a history of arts-related funding, project descriptions,
    links
    and navigation tips.

Information provided with each example includes:
    * the name and contact information of the organization,
    * a description of the funded activity,
    * the year it was funded and the amount,
    * a description of the federal source of the funds with Web site
    information,
    and
    * a "money trail" showing how the dollars made their way from the
    federal
    source to the local organization.

Program Types:  Define the general focus of the cultural programming
    examples
included in the database. Each program type has four associated
    objectives
    to
help you further pinpoint programs like your own. Clicking on a
    specific
program type will take you to a chart listing organizations, by state,
    that
have received federal monies for cultural activities within the
    specific
Program Type. The chart also shows which objective(s) the organization
    met
    in
the examples provided. Clicking on the organization's name will take
    you to
the specific example(s) of cultural programs and the federal source(s)
    tapped
to support them. Contact information for the organization and
    descriptions
    of
the federal program are included as are web links where available.

Federal Agency Programs:  Provides a list of the federal agencies with
funding opportunities for cultural programs. Clicking on a specific
    agency
takes you to a listing of the funding programs that will support
    cultural
    acti
vity identified so far in their research. At the end of the program
description is a link to examples of cultural activities that have
    received
    funding through the program.

Reference Tools & Tips:  Provides information and tips on how to
    effectively
seek support from particular Federal Departments or Agencies. This
    section
    also references relevant publications.
