"free" Internet

    Hi,
            I use a local ISP, and that works great except for the few times a year I
    travel. Next month is odd because I'm going to be out of town all but one
    weekend. Does anyone know of one of the "free" internet services (the kind
    with the adds on the screen) that I can download to use while I'm out of
    town? I need to be able to check in with the office via e-mail. Usually I do
    this from a library or a family member's computer - but I won't have this
    option on these trips. Since I have the laptop, I thought I might try one of
    these.
