    I know that those of you from the US are interested in how the candidates
    really will act especially in the areas of education and support for the
    arts. I, personally, never listen to the sound bite speeches, and rarely to
    the debates (they are just sound bit opportunities in most cases). I prefer
    to look at how they have voted in the past - especially since our
    representative's office told me his stance on a particular bill was none of
    my business. On the congress sites you can even look up the actual bill,
    though day-to-day updates still are not available (they can get them to the
    members and lobbies but can't get them up on the web - to much trouble). I
    particularly like the vote smart site for a good overview then I look up
    specifics on the house and senate sites.
