    I don't know when this original question was posted (I missed some of the digests)
    But there is a terrific web site here, it was just finished this Fall.

    Get The Picture: Thinking About Photographs is The Minneapolis Institute of Arts newest online learning resource. The program allows students to learn basic camera techniques or investigate the historical background of photographers and photography.
