I just did an internet lesson with printmaking - started with Karen Chunk
sites (one has a video they watched) and went to Durer site, Warhol, etc-
for this I ask them to compare and contrast with their own work in
progress in printmaking - they did that well.

When the Rockwell was at the High in Atlanta, I used that site and a video
by Faith Ringgold and asked - What is your opinion of these two artists -
is one more of an "artist" than the other? Is one more appealing than the
other? - Use art elements, skill and creativity as a basis of your answers
and mention the artistic value you see/ don't see in each artist's work -
write in first person but refer to each artist and their work in an
    informed way.

The overall museum search questions were: what museum,. what location?
What sort of pictures, sculptures, artifacts does this museum contain?
What do you think is the most famous work this museum contains?
If you could go there in person, what would you most like to see and why?
Name and describe at least three works of art that the museum contains,
or describe three different collections and their importance.

I did not give them enough time on this last one - some of the sites are
very extensive - I wanted them to really feel like they had been there -
in the future I will add some critical questions I think. We have a
trouble getting enough computers for a long time because our school is
very crowded right now. So I have to plan around that.

The printmaking assignment was best because they could relate to the
process I think - I continue to experiment with this. If you have access
to computers - some of these assignments are great for sub days when you
don't want materials out . But I rarely miss so just like them to have a
break. Also should add we have 90 min periods so that make a difference.
