Art Pen Pals

    I started the Art Pen Pal thread some time ago. Just wanted to let you know
    that my students love it. So far, we have only received some from South
    Africa and are expecting some from several locations in the United States.
    Usually, as soon as the students set foot on the school grounds, they try to
    find me and ask if their letters have arrived yet. Believe me, it is a big
    thing to them. We made drawing of the desert and cactus to send to South
    Africa, we got back pictures of all of the wonderful animals from that part
    of the world. My students are now very interested in Africa and comment
    about whatever they hear on the news, therefore, making it an integrated
    learning experience. I have some management ideas that I will share with the
    group when I try it again. You always learn a lot when you try something for
    the first time.
