Hi Maggie,
Even though the salary is less then what I am making now (salary there =
$26,250), that doesn't tell the whole picture. I will get a furnished 3
bedroom house to myself, my own pool, air conditioned and a backup
generator, utilities paid except phone, full insurance including dental,
retirement benefit, annual round trip transportation, $2500 baggage
allowance, and $500 settling in allowance.
I think that they will appreciate me. The director said that I won't have
to do any extra-curricular duties, considering how expansive my job is. It
also sounds like I will be getting a very high degree of latitude as to what
I feel the school should order in the area of technology. This was a very
important thing to me.
I told my principal on Monday. She actually had been called even before I
interviewed with the school. They already are wondering how they could
possibly find someone who could fill my shoes. I think they appreciate me
even more now. I will be still on the net and the listserve when I'm over in
Africa. It'll be even more important considering the isolation.
Thanks for everything!
