We have scratched with large sharpened nails, but dental tools work best.
The last time I had my teeth cleaned, I asked the dentist for any old, dull
tools. He gave me about 50. The first year we used them "as is" with
curved tips, etc. The next year, I had the metals teacher cut off the
curvy points, and sharpen the remaining ends. Most tools are double ended
so there were two sharp edges to each tool. These are fabulous. Give it a
try.
