I have to write curriculum for K-8 building that has 4 art teachers in
six years. The curriculum was non-existent. I use the Illinois Fien
Art Standards, the national standards for Fine Art and my budget and
time constriants. I listed all the media I was able to teach and came
up with 2 years worth of activities. I will teach the same to K-2, 3-4,
5-6, 7-8 to keep me sane. With two years worth of stuff - I will not
repeat or bore students. Some excellent resources I have used are
"Let's Discover ... Tempura, Watercolor, etc from Jenean Romburg -- from
The Center for Applied Research in Education, West Nyack New York,
10994. They were passed on to me from the art teacher I student taught
with. He has had them for @30 years. They just have lots of activites
that you could tie into Art History, or however you want to go.
Hope this helps.
