Couple more crayon ideas:

Color on sandpaper (or sprinkle the grated crayon on sandpaper) and warm
the sandpaper in the oven (on warm, not hot). Melts into the grains of
sand. It's nice.

Same on rocks. Warm in the oven. (NOT HOT!!!) Crayon melts into the
rock's pits and over the smooth surfaces.
