Gail,
I agree with every one - keep up with your style. We aren't supposed to
sit down. I tell my students that I love my job because I CAN"T sit
down, which is also the reason I let them move around, with procedures!
You might mention, if you can, to your bosses that the students
appreciate the attention. I had one student remark "You never sit down
do you?" I gave him my I love my job ... he then continued with a
derogatory remark about a teacher who never stands up. I took this as an
indication that students want and need our attention. We can guide
without telling, ask questions instead of giving answers, and they will
learn to think for themselves and work independently.
Do any of us really work independently anyway? Look at this list! We're
all here because we want to have input and share and learn from each
other.
Keep up the great work and buy good shoes.
Vicky, in Michigan where it's hot, muggy and the fish are washing up on
the beach!?
(Hope that doesn't discourage any one from visiting, they should go away
soon!)
