Picasso also said that "Art is a lie that tells the truth." So maybe there
is the "truth" of reality and the "truth" of emotions. Sometimes children
represent their emotions and their reality through their art, so what
"truth" are they depicting? Mary C. Indiana (where the humidity is rising)

I'm intrigued by the claim that "art by its nature cannot tell the
'truth'". What does this mean? Did Picasso's Guernica say something true
about the consequences of war? Marcia Eaton
