Here's areal easy lesson. I'm sure you know about the natural addition.
LIke 1 and then 2, 3, 5, 8, 13,21, etc. And that this occurs with
sunflowers and pinecones and that it makes a natural and beatiful spiral.
For the pinecone it goes around the cone and for the sunflower it
spirals out from the center. So have the children do variations of it.
Display O'Keefe's sunlower and talk about fibo. Then have them do
realist drawings of the flower or cone. Then have them do abstract
variations - making sure that they represent the sprial nature. Done
with different shapes, colors, etc.
