Some of us have had and been using computers in our classrooms for 10 years
and more. Some of us have had students prepare learning and use manuals for
elementary students and teachers and taught them how to use the programs. Some
of us have had students using SoftImage, 3d Studio, and Lightwave for
animation among others for four years or more. Some of us have been teaching
non-linear editing for video for four years or more. Some of us have had
students using Painter, Dabbler, Publisher, Illustrator, Pagemaker,
Hyperstudio, Director, etc. for several years. Some of us have been making use
of the other resources available to us through record keeping softward, the
internet, etc. for some time now. Some of us have been recording student
portfolios on CD's. Some districts have required specific levels of technology
literacy of all teachers and any in-coming teachers for some time. Some of us
have been communicating on this listserv for some time.
Let us not make the assumption that we are alone in our knowledge or our
efforts. Assumptions are not good for our images.
