Regarding supply ordering: it is a job and we now advise all student
teachers to become familiar with the ins and outs.

We have a large district and our supplies are put out on bid. Some of the
bid prices are unreal-compared to catalog price. Even companies that are
not on the bid list will respond to faxed bid requests. Anything that is
not on bidsheet must be requisitioned. We (art teachers) then
call companies with the list of things we need and sometimes get a better
price than catalog. it's the old-shop around theory.

No school should have to pay retail.
