I teach art to special ed classes. They have won several awards. The projects are designed to be prevocational, seasonal, holidays, topical, anti substance abuse messages, etc. It is mainly a discipline to listen and follow instructions. Follow a procedure and sequence to complete a project. the students learn to analyze and reason. They care for tools and materials, clean up, etc. It is a kind of a work rules orientation. "stay in your seat or lose your scissors". improve dexterity, concentration, hand/eye coordination, etc. It's fun for the kids, teacher, and staff. What can we share?
