I remember using a text in college that was meaningful to my understanding
of this subject. It was called "The Humanities Through the Arts", by F.
David Martin and Lee A. Jacobus. Published by McGraw Hill.

I found Russell Rosener's advice interesting...so often we second guess
ourselves when defining an educational goal. I agree with him...have faith
in your instincts. After all, you're an expert in the field, and can only
enhance your students' experience! You probably already have a fairly clear
cut idea of your own perception of cultural issues. As he said, it's just a
matter of organizing your thoughts.

I love this forum. It gives me that professional "lift" we all need
sometimes...
