I am trying to do some research for a paper on Virtural Art in virtural
space. Some questions...I would like to know where I can obtain
information about artists who create art to be viewed on the web or
electronically. I would like to know who determines that it is art? Has
anyone (art historians) that have written papers about this new art
medium. Who ownes the art? Is it able to be come a comody? Are there
copyright laws that protect this type of art or is it understood by the
that anyone can capture it, change it or whatever? I have been looking
at the artwork in the virtural galleries. I was told in a class that Bill
is buying up some copyrights on many pieces of artworks so that he can
use or sell people a charged $ rate on the web to view them. Is this
true? Can anyone point me in some directions as to where I may obtain
some of this information?
Thank you all so much! donna in Maine
