back. Sometimes I look back in the Getty archives and see so many regulars4
names who dropped out a long time ago. Those were the days we were getting 30
or more messages every day.
I still love teaching here in Quito. We are wrapping things up this week,
then we have two months off. I4m already looking forward to next year. What
a great way to feel. I4m glad I didn4t get the 9-10 art position which I had
originally applied for--the art room isn4t very well-equipped and they only
meet every 3-4 days. The young woman who did get it did a wonderful job with
some ornery students who didn4t take art very seriously, but she will teach
10th grade English next year. I spent some time in the 7-8 grade art room and
the stuff they produce is very...decorative--basically, using markers to
create patterns within big photocopied outlines of butterflies and flowers in
vases and clowns. It was no wonder they balked at any real art content in 9th
