There are several ways to download YouTube videos from home if your
district is blocking the website.

The easiest one is called KissYouTube. If you type in the word kiss,
just before the word "You" it will take you to a website that will
download the file! You can also copy and paste the YouTube video web
address directly into the KissYouTube site and be able to download the

Another way to download videos (not just from YouTube) is installing
FireFox and the add-on "UnPlug." Find a video site that you like, click
the UnPlug icon and it opens a page that has all the video web addresses
for videos that are on that page. It even has a statement under each
listing saying "this is probably the one you want, save"

Lastly, if you want to show YouTube or any other .flv videos, try GOM
Media Player. It plays almost everything so there is no need to convert
the file format to something else and it's free!
