[teacherartexchange] Day After Bad Day / kiln

Thanks to ALL of you that responded with wonderful ideas and encouagement!
As you know it is hard to think clearly when you are being punched and
kicked at the same time.
I plan on using most of the ideas presented. I know that field trips are
out, and we don't have a PTA, but most everything else seems possible.
I will let you know how things go .
I will check into the vent being left on after the kiln is turned off.
Since the electric/ computer software buisness just got hooked up I don't
know of they can be operated alone? I sure hope the vent is quiet
and takes out heat and fumes. I have always been one to fire at night and
on weekends without problems. I wonder what will happen to a glaze fire
if the computer flips off before the kiln is ready ?
Has anyone ever heard or a school burning down because of a kiln fire?
Is anyone else having trouble with their school insurance company?
It seems like the health of the people breathing the air should count for
something? Also, our windows are sealed shut so no fresh can come in.
Oh, the joy !
Sharon
