I understand what you are getting at here. I remember visiting schools and
seeing the identical art projects hung over and over and over in the halls of
If your are worried about reproducing that result, just DON'T. Regardless of
the assignment, I always leave it "open ended." If I create an example so
students understand the premise more thoroughly, I always take it away from view
as the kids get started.
I intentionally encourage individuality by explaining how we are all unique
people and our art should exemplify that. Consequently, I get all kinds of
different results to problems presented by various projects.
This isn't all that difficult to do.
