Ken,
Having done both I can honestly say there's real magic in darkroom work.
That's what I tell my ninth graders as well. I would urge you to try to make a
traditional print, at least for the sake of just having the experience. It's that
cool. I have been using Photoshop since its inception and although it's
amazing in it's power, it holds little of that "magic" quality.
