Interesting thread....I have a parent who is a photographer. One thing he
always says to me is that he is not a "dark room photographer". By that he
means (as he explained it to me) that the art of photography was framing the
picture and getting the image he wanted, rather than "editing" it later in the dark
room.
I guess two different points of view. I think it is amazing what can be done
in the dark room and with various photograhic processes...probably because I
do not know how to do them. However, I am an avid user of photoshop...but see
it as sort of cheating. :-) It is not and certainly requires a set of
skills all its own. Just 2 different ways to achieve similar effects.....
