Re: What Does Excellence Look Like - Elementary - High School

Date: Sat Jun 19 2004 - 07:55:31 PDT

One really funny thing about the "art" that I made in this
workshop...although I don't want to wear it myself, one of my students
went gaga over one of the pieces and she wanted to buy it. I sold it to
her for 25 bucks. And you know what??? It looked great ON HER. It was
almost as if her liking it made it prettier. I would still never wear
it, but I could see it differently as soon as she put it on a chain and
wore it with a pretty blouse the next day. I don't feel that I have any
ownership of it since it was not my design. I am so technically capable
that I can copy almost anything, but that doesn't make it art. I was
really surprised to realize that I could like it again when it was on
someone elses neck and I was "free of it." I sold it really cheaply,
too. She was thrilled and I was freed of the albatross, lol.
