Restoring Hard Clay!!!

Hi...I know someone wrote about adding water to a bag of hard clay....but I
can't remember how much.....I have quite a few boxes of clay that are too hard
to use.....I have run out of buckets to put it in, which I usually do.....I
know someone said put the water in now...and in the fall it will be
ready.....but how much .....anyone know???....I only have 2 days to fill the bags......!!!
