MessageI bought a kawai piano a few years ago - it's relatively new so good for practice, but the sound is not as resonant as some of the older brands - I think this is partly because the company saves money by using plastic parts in the hammers to replace the wooden ones.

Still have ours, inherited from my wife's grandmother. My middle brother has the one I grew up with.
Ours is also a short, upright Kimball. They only way we'll get rid of this one is if I buy my wife a baby grand.
But before that, I have to get her her own pipe organ, and if I can do that she has to get me a Harley !!!
