"Has anyone ever taught any continuing Education classes for adults? What
kinds of classes? Our district is trying to put together some programs...."
I taught Metalsmithing and Jewelry classes for six years at the University of
the Arts in Philadelphia. These classes were administrated through the
Department of Continuing Education at the University.
The age group I taught ranged from older teen to retiree.
The students were all highly motivated and produced great work. The classes I
taught always filled and had an average of fifteen to twenty people per class.
I would imagine given the proper facilities and faculty an adult education
program would be a welcome addition to a school division and could possibly help
produce additional revenue.
