Astroworld would definitely interest a 15 year old, if you can stand it!
We have a new seafood restaurant downtown called "The Aquarium" that has
all sorts of fun stuff to do in addition to great seafood. A bit
pricey, though. You should know that a huge flap developed over that
restaurant. Everyone was happy to learn that the restaurant was coming
to downtown until they erected a giant turquoise ferris wheel and put up
some huge sign. IT's the first thing you see now when you look at our
beautiful skyline as you drive into downtown from the west on Memorial
or Allen Parkway, which is a nice park like area. It depends on what
kind of 15 year old you have, actually. We have wonderful museums here.
Our MFA is fantastic, as are the Menil Collection and Natural Science
Museum. They have an IMAX at the science museum.
IN Galveston, you can go to Moody Gardens or the beach. There's a neat
downtown historic part of Galveston called "The Strand". It's by the
wharfs. Good restaurants, shops, etc. Bring your air conditioned
suit!!! (why hasn't SOMEONE einvented one yet???)
