I do not know if Maryland has a similar program to Career Switchers in
Virginia but once the full requirements of the program are met and the first year of
teaching is successfully completed there is virtually no difference between
certification through Career Switchers or a more traditional program and the
credentials should be as transferable as any teaching credentials.
All that said each state certifies it's teachers and can pretty much dictate
whatever it requires of it's teachers. A case in point is the score for Praxis
tests which vary greatly state to state. Virginia happens to require quite

in the teaching profession. He who does not advance falls behind.
