At my old school I taught a mask project using False Face Masks as a starting
point. There is a great story I used to tell the class about why the masks
face is twisted and distorted. Then the kids made their masks and they too had
to write stories about their masks. When all of the stories and masks were
completed I read the stories and had the students guess which mask inspired the
story.
Years ago the Museum of Ntural History in NYC had severak masks on display
and I took slides of them. Three or four years ago when I was back with a
digital camera they were no longer on display.
