I took a drawing course as a refresher for my recertification, and the high
school college art teacher played soothing instrumentals kind of jazzy. In my
elementary school, I bought the classics on CD Mozart, Chopin, Bach from a
local music store at dirt cheap prices, and they hear little bits of the greats
while they draw or paint. I play my music every day with every grade after I
hand out their supplies and go through the lesson.
After a while its expected and breaks up the monotony. The kids love it
and its part of the art experience. I played Batman music instumentals from the
cartoons on TV and it was good for the fourth and fifth grade students, but
not for the little ones. They all wanted to dance instead of focusing on their
art work.
