the detroit zoo has a wonderful gallery with works of art related to animals
and their conservation. in it, strategically mounted in a high-ceilinged
corner, is a large sculpture of a spider fashioned out of something like old
umbrella spines or windshield wipers. it is very cool - gives you a start
when you first spy it! hmmmm...you could get old umbrellas cheap at the
thrift shop...
