When I worked for the YMCA we used an ice breaking game that can be used
here, but I would suggest with smaller kids..you'll see why in a second. The
game is called Person to Person. There is a group with an odd number. Each
person has a partner and the odd person out is the caller. The caller says
something like Elbow to Elbow and the partners must touch elbows and keep
them touching until the next instruction. Then the caller might say Foot to
Foot and the partners must find touch foot to foot etc. This keeps going
until the caller says person to person...then they must find another partner.
The odd person out is the new caller and the process starts all over again.
This can be adapted Color to Color, red to red they must touch red to red
etc. or something similar. The reason I said with smaller kids is because I
can see older students saying Butt to Butt or something like that. Another
one I heard of is using several students and someone call out shapes and they
lay on the floor and try to make that shape with their bodies..in other
words, a square would need four people, each one being a side. I think I saw
that one on the Cosby Show or something. I hope this helps and fits your
