A few thoughts from Roblyer and Edwards (Integrating Educational Technology
into Teaching) about art in the information age:
1 Watch for paradigm shifts as the arts and tech impact. Expect new modes of
expression and art forms.
2 "The communicative language of the new technologies--sound, animation,
music, drama, video, graphics, ext and voice--is also the languag of the
arts. Thus, arts teachers are particularly well-positioned to help students
develop skills as both critical producers and critical consumers of
electronic media."
3 Creativity and innovation even more essential in emerging technologies.
4. They feel that the uniquely human aspects of art education alone balance
the future artificial high tech environment and describe this as coping
These ideas helped me to get a new vision for my teaching.
