MY feeling would be to let parents know that students gifted in visual art
(but first you must define the criteria for gifted!) are no being serviced.
In my school district students in reading, math and science are given special
service if they meet the criteria for "gifted" in our district, but not art
or music. Of course in art it is much easier to differentiate instruction,
but still, I would say my gifted students are not getting what they need in
terms of identification and instruction.
