Where to start? There's so many and all great with different kinds of
collections.
The Dallas Musuem of Art has art from Ancient Ameria to Contemporary artists.
They have furniture, glassware, quilts, Egyptian gallery, African Gallery,
etc. If you only have time for one, go there.
Right across the street from the DMA is theTrammel Crowe Asian musuem. Small
but very beautiful. At SMU is the Meadows Museum of Art. It's an all Spanish
Collection. They just opened a new gallery and it's really nice. Also in
Dallas at Fair Park is the African American Museum. It has a variety of
exhibits. I took a group of third graders there last year.
In Fort Worth, they have the Amon Carter, (mostly western art like Russell
and Remington) The Kimball (a small but varied permament collection and ever
changing shows like Renior) and the Modern Museum of Art.

These are just the major ones. There are several small galleriess and museums
that I've haven't had time to see. There's even a Biblical Arts Museum. I
took my Mom there once and was awed.
All of the mentioned museums have websites where you can get more info.

If you ever get back, let me know. I'll be happy to be a tour guide. Janet
