I'd like to send out a big thanks to those people who took the time to
respond to my desperate cry for help on some themed art project lessons for
elementary students.

I'd also like to thank Ceil (Lyden1819@aol.com) for responding to my request
for more information about her Pop Art (fried eggs, bacon and toast) project
on her website. I utilized the information and learned a lot as I went
through the week. We were using plain white foam plates. To spice it up, I
had the children come up with a dinnerware design, which they painted on the
foam plate. The children were so excited about doing the project, the other
instructors in the art camp loved the project, and the Art Center
administrators also loved it. They couldn't believe the toast was real!

Thanks again to all who offered assistance. I will offer up a few ideas when
things taper off a bit. I'm off to Annapolis for vacation next week with
plans to visit Washington, D.C. The National Gallery of Art has a Jasper
Johns exhibit and I will also be visiting the Corcoran (as well as many other
museums) with my 12 year-old son.

Also, as an aside, I'm reading "Blue Highways" which was recommended here and
on a photo listserv. It's a wonderful, true tale of exploring people and
their stories on the less-traveled roads of the U.S.

Thanks to all!
Doug in FL
