I LOVED "The Shipping News"! I'm having a yard sale this weekend and although that book is in the box I will keep it out of the sale.

Jayna,
an older book that's very romantic and not at all cheesy is "A Room With A View" by E.M. Forester. (the movie is great, too!) Another good one, a bit longer and much more recent, is " The Shipping News" by E. Annie Proulx (sp?). Have fun!
