Geoff, I've had the same experience as you. One time I was interviewing at
a great high school in my area. The assistant principal at the interview,
when he saw where I went for my masters, asked me if I knew a particular
woman. I said yes. He said that she was interviewing for the job too and
asked me if she wasn't terrific. I was caught off guard and didn't say a
word. Afterwards I found out that she had graduated from that high school
and got the job. The truth is she was the worst candidate in our masters
program. Oh well....... E
